Rehearsal Recordings Posted for 12-17-05

I've posted new Rehearsal Recordings from our rehearsal on 12-17-05. I know Jorge felt he wasn't "on"... and I definitely wasn't "in" the songs that day... but Ryan and Steve were consistent of course.

Some of the recordings I posted are pretty shabby, but we tried some new stuff this time, which turned out to be pretty fun and to sound ok, particularly our first attempt at "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses", which I most definitely was "in."

Enjoy... and we always welcome comments.

Rehearsal Recordings posted for 11-19-05

I've posted new rehearsal recordings for our practice on 11-19-05. There are two sets of recordings. One is from the straight rehearsal, and one is from the third hour when a few people came to watch and Jorge's brother Oscar filmed us. Hopefully I'll be able to post some video soon... I hear it turned out pretty good.

There are a few glitches with these recordings... I had to record these with audacity on my pBook instead of with pro tools... apparently I missed our reheasrsal of I Will Follow... there are multiple versions of some songs... and some of these files did not copy cleanly to my web server, so let me know if there are still any issues.

PS. Mike Porcelli went and saw a professional U2 cover band named Desire in San Diego... so yes, we still need to do something about our name.

Maybe we need to work on our name?

It seems we aren't alone in thinking Desire is a cool name for a band. Any suggestions? Leave a comment. :)

The First Time

I am experimenting with the idea of a blog focused on the U2 cover band, Desire, consisting of myself, Jorge Velastegui, Steve Lim, and Ryan Chan. We are only rehearsing at this point, but it's a lot of fun and we're starting to sound decent.

To start with... here are some images of our rehearsal yesterday. I've also posted a link to some MP3s of our rehearsals in the right hand column. (Listen to the newest ones first! And be nice.)

Bassist Mr. Ryan Chan.

Guitarist Jorge Velastegui, the Edge-ucator.

Drummer Steve "All In" Lim.

And here I am singing... and blinking at the flash of course. I guess I need some shades.
